In a career spanning twenty- five years and at least as many recordings Alone In Bad Company is Jeff Lang’s momentous new album which presents the most organic union of Lang’s talents and influences yet. Released through ABC Music on February 24th this year Alone In Bad Company is filled with exquisitely sung stories and melodies demonstrating that, Lang is nothing if not a lover of song.
The first single from the album is ‘Burnside’ which immediately highlights Lang’s proficiency as one of Australia’s best guitarists with rapid fingerpicking and guitar work. Each song on the album is rendered such that an alternative approach is unimaginable and each time Lang steps up to solo, his hard-won style is unmistakable – fluid but with an edge-of-the-seat recklessness.
Acoustic fingerpicking, slide guitar, electric lead, banjos, mandolins and blue-eyed soul singing drop into place like puzzle pieces in a portrait conceived and executed almost entirely by the artist. Steadfast cohorts Danny McKenna and Allison Ferrier deliver on cue and master writer Don Walker shares his peerless wit on two songs, including the pointedly titled ‘With You I Can Throw Away The Pills’, a bitter-suite finale.
In the end, Alone In Bad Company presents one of our most inspired musicians – and songwriters – at the peak of his exceptional powers.

Owen Campbell is one of Australia’s premier alternative blues/rock artists, known for his smouldering slide guitar, gritty caramel vocals, and soulful, cosmic sound. With over a decade of touring, he’s released three best-selling albums and two EPs, all charting globally. From Kathmandu’s Himalayan Blues Festival to Woodford Folk Festival, Owen’s commanding live shows have captivated audiences worldwide. He’s currently recording his seventh album, set for release during in 2026.
Owen’s debut album Sunshine Road reached #1 on the Australian charts, famously toppling Adele. He followed up with The Pilgrim, Breathing Bullets, and Rolling Thunder, earning critical acclaim across Europe, the US, and beyond. His recent performances include Woodford Folk Festival, Blues on Broadbeach and Gympie Music Muster.
Every one of Owen’s albums has hit the Top 10 on iTunes Blues Charts in over 10 countries.
Beyond his chart success, He has toured extensively in Australia and overseas, including in the US, where he has built a dedicated following.
In August 2025 Owen released Cosmic People – his first studio EP in six years. In recent years, Campbell has taken a step back from the road to focus on raising his young sons, Harry (4) and Charlie (9).
“After having children, I’ll never complain about the challenges of being a touring musician again,” Campbell laughs. “Just getting kids in and out of the car is a full-time job!”
He adds, “I made a conscious decision to be at home during these formative years and put my career aside. But I reached a point where I realised that creating music isn’t just a job – it’s essential for my mental health. Writing is a deeply spiritual experience for me, and that’s where Cosmic People began.”
Describing the EP, Campbell says: “Cosmic People encapsulates both the winter of despair and the warmth of spring. It’s a reminder that we’re more than screen-addicted beings – and that a beautiful world is waiting for us to reconnect.”
“Campbell possesses an exceptional musical personality. You wholeheartedly believe every note he plays and sings.”
